"We don't have it in our own hands anymore," Manchester City coach Pep Guardiola told Sky Sports.

Arsenal are now five points ahead of second-placed Manchester City. The league-leading London club have three games left to play – City have four games left on their schedule.

A blunder by Manchester City defender Marc Guéhi in the 68th minute was the start of the collapse away at Everton.

Guéhi played a far-too-loose back pass to goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma. Thierno Barry took advantage and easily made it 1–1.

"In the second half they took a step up and maybe we weren't so aggressive. We gave away a goal and after that they (Everton) came back," said Guardiola.

Five minutes after the equalizer, Jake O'Brien met a left corner perfectly at the front post and headed in to make it 2–1.

In the 82nd minute, the next blow came when substitute Barry was left with an open goal and easily scored his second of the evening to make it 3–1.

Manchester City reduced the deficit immediately after kick-off. Striker Erling Braut Haaland ran through and, with his 25th goal of the season, consolidated his lead in the Premier League's top scorer race.

In the end, City also scored an equalizer. In the seventh minute of added time, Jérémy Doku - who also opened the scoring - scored the 3–3 equalizer.
