Last year's winner Lövgren, Czech Vaclav Sedlacek and German Thomas Bing pulled away from the rest of the field halfway through - after 110 kilometers - at the Nordenskiöldsloppet, which runs round trip from Jokkmokk to Njavve.
Bing fell in the last corner before the finish line and Sedlacek proved strongest there. He was one tenth ahead of Lövgren at the finish. The Czech's winning time was 12:15:25.3.
Countrywoman Karolina Grohova won the women's class in 13:16:23.8 after finishing the 120-kilometer race. Second place went to Sweden's Malin Börjesjö, who finished about seven minutes later.
"I couldn't keep up and I also had stomach problems. But I'm so happy with my second place," Börjesjö said, according to a press release from the organizer.
