The suspected 26-year-old, who last year traveled to the United Kingdom in a small boat, uploaded a video in October last year where he, according to suspicions, threatened to shoot to death party leader Farage.
The high nationalist Farage had previously published a clip where he referred to content that the suspected 26-year-old had uploaded online and used this as an example of "young men of fighting age who come to our country and about whom we know very little".
In response to this, the defendant uploaded the video where he turned to the party leader and, among other things, said that he would "pop, pop, pop", while he made "pistol movements with his hand", according to prosecutor Peter Ratliff.
Farage, whose party has gone strongly forward in opinion polls, described in court in London on Tuesday that he found the content of the recording "quite unpleasant".
The 26-year-old, who was arrested on October 31, 2024, when he arrived with his boat at the British Isles from France after having broadcast parts of the journey on social platforms, is an Afghan citizen but had lived in Sweden since 2019 before the trip. He denies the allegations.
