The now convicted man called 112 himself on the evening of January 15 this year and stated that he had stabbed a man to death in his residence. In the district court proceedings, the man said that he could neither acknowledge nor deny the crime since he did not remember whether he had inflicted any stab wounds and neither whether he had any intent in that case.
Two hours before the alarm call, another call was made to 112 where the 60-year-old man was heard saying something about a misdialed call, at the same time as the now deceased man in the background seemed to want help. SOS called back and then received the message that it was a misdialed call – the police then decided not to take any action at that point.
The prosecutor had requested 18 years' imprisonment for the man.
