The 60s singer Johnny Tillotson has passed away, reports TMZ.
Johnny Tillotson was born in 1938 in Jacksonville, Florida. He broke through as a teenage idol with the song "Poetry in motion", which he wrote and performed himself. It reached second place on the Billboard list in 1961.
The following year, he released "Without you", which reached seventh place on the list. He wrote more songs, including "It keeps right on a-hurtin" and "You can never stop me loving you". Dean Martin, Bobby Darin, and even Elvis Presley recorded covers of Tillotson's songs.
The singer's last album was released in 1977, but he released several singles and toured in Southeast Asia, Australia, and New Zealand. He recorded both country and Christmas music in the 1990s, and his last song "Not enough" was released in 2010.
According to his wife Nancy, Johnny Tillotson passed away due to complications from Parkinson's disease.
