The individuals are also charged with incitement to commit serious public destruction, incitement to commit a crime against the Act on Flammable and Explosive Goods, a felony, and involving a minor in a crime.
It was at 9 p.m. on August 22 last year that a powerful explosion took place in Östberga in southern Stockholm. A 15-year-old boy from Stockholm was later found dead at the scene.
The prosecutor believes that the boy was going to carry out an explosive attack, and he is suspected of having been recruited for the attack.
The investigation has shown that this person was recruited by a person who can be linked to a criminal network that, according to the police, is part of a network in Visättra, says prosecutor Lukas Tigerstrand.
Played football
According to Tigerstrand, the 15-year-old boy was recruited through his group of friends at school.
The investigation suggests the deceased had a good friend who goes to school with a third person, and this third person has had contact with people from this network. They liked to play football and socialize, and then there are older people who knew one of the gang.
A car was damaged in the explosion, but there is no indication that the owner was targeted. According to the investigation, it was a homemade explosive device with a fuse.
"We found traces of pentyl, which is a powerful explosive. We also found metal fragments that suggest it could be, for example, a thermos bomb," says Lukas Tigerstrand.
Allegedly threatened witnesses
The defendants deny any wrongdoing, although some have admitted certain elements.
The 22-year-old is also charged with aggravated assault in court along with another man, as he allegedly attacked and threatened witnesses to keep them quiet about the incident.
Another 16-year-old boy is charged with aiding and abetting the crime, while also being the plaintiff.
