Nordic small savers were given the opportunity to subscribe to shares at $135 each in Elon Musk's new stock market offering ahead of its IPO on Friday. On Wednesday, they were trading at $194.

Nordnet tells TT that, as of Wednesday, 16,000 Swedes own shares in the company. Almost half of them are in the 30–49 age group. Of these, 14 percent are women and 86 percent are men.

The second largest age group among Swedish SpaceX owners is 50–64, which accounts for 30 percent of shareholders.

Customers aged 65 and older account for just under 15 percent and the 18–29 age group has 10 percent.

These groups also have a similar gender distribution.

"It is possible that Elon Musk and space are two variables that attract men to a greater extent than women, but I believe above all that it is about behavior during IPOs," writes Carl-Henrik Söderberg, savings economist at Nordnet, to TT.

He finds that customers are generally very engaged, regardless of gender.

"But when it comes to IPOs, my impression is that more men are active here."

Including other Nordic countries, Nordnet has approximately 45,000 customers with SpaceX shares.
