Below follows a selection of events from last night's occurrences in the police district of Värmland.
Karlstad, knife law violation.
22.18: In connection with a pub in Tingvallstaden, a man in his 45s is checked. The man possesses an item that falls under knife law violation. The case is being handled according to SLF, faster prosecution.
Charlottenberg, drunk driving.
00.03: A driver is checked, the driver blows a positive breath test and is taken for a body search. There are two children as passengers in the vehicle, who are handed over to their mother. An investigation is ongoing with suspicion of drunk driving.
Forshaga, assault.
00.25: A witness sees eight to ten people fighting with each other, the location is in central Forshaga and outdoors. The police were ordered to the scene, an individual can be located and this becomes the victim in an assault report. The victim is a man in his 45s, the perpetrator is unknown.
Karlstad, assault.
01.35: Two men, both in their 20s, are taken into custody according to LOB, the law on the apprehension of intoxicated persons, in central Karlstad. Both are also suspected of assault, as a man can be identified as the victim after investigative measures at the scene of the incident. There is no information on any possible injury to the victim.
Otherwise, the night has passed with work related to creating a sense of security for on-duty patrols. A number of drivers and individuals have been checked. Patrols have also handled a case involving mental health. Six people have been taken into custody according to LOB, the law on the apprehension of intoxicated persons, and one person has been taken into custody according to section 13 of the police law.
