Under Saturday morning, the police were contacted by an elderly man in Finspång's municipality who claims to have been subjected to an attempted fraud.

He had first been called by someone who claimed to be from the bank. The person who called him was supposed to visit him at home, but the man who received the call became suspicious and hung up.

Later, the same man received a visit from a person who claimed to work for home care and was supposed to deliver medication. Once again, the man became suspicious - and chose not to open the door. The police have filed a report regarding an attempted fraud.

The police are now urging the public not to let strangers in or follow instructions that ask for sensitive information if you are not completely sure who you are talking to or that they are actually who they claim to be. It is also important to contact the police directly if you have been subjected to fraud or an attempted crime.
