According to initial reports, the driver was alone in the car at the time of the collision. The driver has managed to get out of the car and is awake and able to speak, but complains of pain in the arm and shoulder. The extent of the damage otherwise remains unclear.

According to the rescue service on the scene, the car is completely demolished, while the locomotive has only minor damage.

Police have just arrived at the scene.
